Last Novemeber, volunteers from metro SES units joined together at the DFES Aviation Facility to have two members from each unit trained and endorsed. They then returned to their respective units, ready to deliver Helitak Ground Support. This also allowed attendees to have a good look around the air fleet, as well as meet some of the pilots and the supporting staff.
In preparation for the day, the volunteers who attended had to:
- Ensure they had completed the online Aviation Safety Fundamentals
- Arrive with full PPE as required, including safety glasses and gloves (appropriate hearing protection was provided for the training).
- Ensure their hat is a brim hat with a chin strap and toggle
