The SESVA Heritage committee is an advisory body established to assist the SESVA in identifying, protecting, managing, and promoting SESVA and SES history and heritage.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Advisory Functions: Provide expert advice to the SESVA on heritage conservation, management of historical material, and the development of heritage strategies.
- Heritage Promotion: Celebrate the SESVA and the SES through public awareness campaigns, educational events, and the promotion of heritage assets.
- Collection Management: Manage material and archives.
- Grant & Funding Support: Assist in sourcing external funding or sponsorship for historical projects.
- Oral History: Work with SES Volunteers and Units, to conduct oral history rograms that record personal recollections of SES history.
Operational Structure
- Membership: Typically composed of SESVA Committee members and SES Volunteers with a keen interest in history.
- Function: Authorised to make recommendations, not final decisions, unless specific delegated authority is given by the SESVA Executive.
- Activities: The committee may meet regularly to discuss heritage challenges, review policies, and plan initiatives.
