Supporting SES Volunteers and the Association
The SES Volunteers Association of Western Australia Incorporated (SESVA) recognises the valuable contribution made by SES Volunteers, both during their active service and beyond.
The Friends of the SESVA program provides an opportunity for retired SES Volunteers, former members and other like-minded people to remain connected with the SESVA and contribute to the work of the Association.
Whether you have previously served with the State Emergency Service or simply wish to support the interests of SES Volunteers in Western Australia, we welcome your interest in becoming a Friend of the SESVA.
How Can You Help?
Friends of the SESVA may assist the Association in a variety of ways, depending on their interests, experience, availability and skills.
Opportunities may include:
- Events and conferences: Assisting at SESVA merchandise stalls, conferences, exhibitions and other Association events.
- Association activities: Providing practical assistance with SESVA projects, meetings and activities as required.
- Communications and promotion: Helping distribute information about the SESVA, its activities and the achievements of SES Volunteers.
- Administrative support: Assisting with general administrative tasks, preparation of materials and other activities that support the Association.
- Sharing experience: Offering knowledge, experience and advice gained through previous SES service or other relevant backgrounds.
- Community engagement: Helping promote awareness of the important role SES Volunteers play in supporting communities throughout Western Australia.
There is no expectation that Friends will be available for every activity. Assistance will be sought as opportunities arise and according to individual availability.
Who Can Become a Friend of the SESVA?
The program is open to people who have an interest in supporting the SESVA and its commitment to representing and supporting SES Volunteers in Western Australia.
This may include:
- Retired SES Volunteers who wish to maintain their connection with the SES community.
- Former SES members who want to continue contributing in a different capacity.
- Family members and supporters of SES Volunteers.
- Other individuals who share an interest in the SESVA’s objectives and are willing to assist with its activities.
Friends of the SESVA do not need to be current SES Volunteers or operationally active.
Staying Connected
Becoming a Friend of the SESVA is an opportunity to maintain friendships, share experiences and remain involved in the wider SES community.
For retired and former Volunteers, it offers a way to continue contributing their knowledge and experience. For others, it provides an opportunity to support the people who volunteer their time to help protect and assist Western Australian communities.
The SESVA values the time, skills and enthusiasm that Friends can bring to the Association.
