“Together we can; Together we will”

19/01/2026 – SES canine Unit Update

In November, we were pleased to host the South Australian SES Canine Unit, including its District Officer, Wayne, Unit Manager Rebecca, and Deputy, Jasmin. The weekend was packed with sharing training techniques, exchanging notes, and strengthening interstate connections.  We also spent an evening socialising to build relationships in a relaxed setting. This collaboration was a valuable learning experience for all and an important step toward achieving uniform training standards across Australia.

Our Canine Unit had a fantastic presence at the DFES Sirens on the Swan Community Day, showcasing three of our amazing dogs:  Rusty (Red Kelpie), Basil (Beagle), and Zee (Kelpie).  It was a huge day with everything Fire and Emergency on display.  We enjoyed meeting so many interested community members and explaining the vital role our dogs play in search and rescue operations.
