ANZAC Day March 2014 – Perth
In recent years SES Volunteers have marched in ANZAC Day parades in Khaki Dress uniform and in 2013 the SES Volunteers marched with their own SES flag.  The privilege of marching in ANZAC Day parades is granted by the RSL for “Uniformed Services”.   The SESVA is in full support of SES Volunteers marching in this parade and now that our involvement has the support and backing from DFES, we can spend time in assisting the Volunteers in their preparation.

The SESVA will be arranging for some preliminary marching practice on the weekend before ANZAC day and notification of where and when will be advised in March.  We ask that Local managers promote this within their units for SES volunteers who might wish to participate in the ANZAC Day march.  The marching for SES Volunteers is in the khaki dress uniform and Units will need to make sure that dress uniforms for SES Volunteers who want to march in ANZAC day parades are ordered early to avoid any delays by DFES or S&H. With some of the feedback we receive on ordering delays you will need to liaise closely with your District Officer to ensure timely delivery.

Looking into the future it is quite likely that the 2015 ANZAC day March will be the biggest yet as it will be the 100th Anniversary of Gallipoli – so it is important to start to get ready and use the 2014 March as a forerunner to the 2015 Anniversary March.  If there are any issues please contact the SESVA Representatives and they will do what they can to assist on this matter.
