24/03/2021 – SES History Book Presentation at Mandurah

SES History Book presentation to Mandurah Mayor

At a recent meeting with the City of Mandurah Mayor, Rhys Williams, the Mandurah SES Local Manager, Chris Stickland and Mandurah SES member Gordon Hall, presented the Mayor with an autographed book about the, “WA State Emergency Service (SES): History from Civic Defence into the 21st Century”.

Mayor Williams stated during the meeting that he always admires any community member who volunteers their time to help others. SES members are no exception. Calls at all hours, day or night, assisting with storms, flood, fire and everything in between – they are a special breed of human, and it is great that books such as this celebrate the service.

More than 1350 books have been widely distributed across WA and a number have also been delivered to other groups in Australia, such as AFAC and GeoScience Australia.

The books have been well received and are a great source of information about the SES and their Volunteers and Staff over many years.
