Northshore SES held its first Family Day during National Volunteer Week on Saturday 13th May 2017 to provide a ‘thank you’ for close family members of the volunteer members, as well as neighbours who live around the unit. About 80 people attended the Family Day, including 20 children. About 10 members donated their time to cook food and arrange the six exhibition stands of equipment and vehicles which the Unit uses during its callouts and training. Many of the stands were developed so that they would be of interest to the young people who attended (see photos below). The Northshore Unit received a small grant from Volunteering WA to put on the event.
