SES Metro Exercise
Over the weekend of 12th & 13th November, ten Metro SES units will be competing in Exercise Prepare at the DFES Training Academy at Forrestfield. DFES are seeking volunteers to undertake a number of roles during the competition. Some of these will require a commitment to either or both days.
The times will be from 07:00 hrs to approx. 17:45 hrs on each day.
This is a great opportunity for those who are not part of the competing teams, to join in the exercise and contribute to what will be a fun and challenging weekend. All meals will be provided and there will be an opportunity for socialisation following the announcement of the winning team at the conclusion of the second day.
The roles available are:
There will be six different stand scenarios that the teams will be aiming to complete within a specified timeframe. At the conclusion of the allocated time, each stand will need to be reset for the next team. Two or three people will be required for this for each stand. This role may provide volunteers an opportunity to watch other stands during the competition. Volunteers for these roles can participate for one or both days of the competition.
A number of stands will require people to play roles within the scenario. Volunteers for these roles will need to commit to both days of the competition as they will be required to play the role in exactly the same manner for each of the 10 competing teams.
These people will be moving between the organisers and the stands and may undertake additional roles as and when required. Volunteers for these roles can participate for one or both days of the competition.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, two of the original judges are no longer able to participate so we are seeking replacements. These must be T/A qualified and will need to commit to both days of the competition to ensure consistent judging for all teams.
The SESVA strongly encourage participation from all metro units, particularly those that have not been able to submit a team.
