22/06/2016 – Peter Clark Condolences from the DFES Commissioner

DFES General Circular No: 88/2016
File: 00478-06
JUNE 2016
It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the passing of State Emergency Service Volunteer and Local Manager Peter Clark (Clarkie) on the evening of Sunday 12th of June.  Clarkie joined the Armadale SES in 1985 as a volunteer and became an integral part of the Unit and the wider emergency services. Clarkie had served in many roles including Training Manager and Deputy Unit Manager prior to being appointed as Armadale Local Unit Manager in 2013.
Awarded the National Medal and the SES Medal, Clarkie displayed great leadership and his dedication and level of commitment would see him deploy to countless emergencies such as the Karajini Vertical Rescue in 2004, Moora and Carnarvon Floods, Queensland Floods and Melbourne Hailstorms in 2010 in addition to the many Cyclone, Land and Air Search activations.
Clarkie was well liked and respected by DFES staff, fellow volunteers and the many people in the community who he worked with during his time in the SES.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday 23rd of June at 10am, conducted at the West Chapel, Fremantle Cemetery in Palmyra. SES volunteers are encouraged to wear their work uniform (overalls or 2-piece).
Losing a family member, friend or colleague is always difficult. DFES Wellness Services are available to assist during this time of grieving. The Employee Assistance Program can be accessed through People Sense (1300 307 912) along with the Chaplaincy Service and Peer Support Program.
On behalf of all Department of Fire and Emergency Services staff, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to Clarkie’s wife Deb and his sons Travis, Adam and their families.
