News From Kalbarri SES for April 2016

Mac Holt reports a Regional 3 day SRR course was held in Kalbarri with a total of 23 students, instructors and assistants attending from Kalbarri, Useless Loop, Carnarvon, Geraldton and Eneabba. The training tower was in full use as it is an ideal facility for safety and close up monitoring of first time SRR students as they learn / practice the necessary SRR skills and techniques.

A mix up on booking the Kalbarri Joint facility meant that the VFRS were also running a Regional Structural course at the same time. ‘No Worries’ – we just worked around each other. It was good to see the training tower being used by both groups at the same time.

After the SRR course completed on the Monday afternoon – all the remaining Kalbarri volunteers and some of the Regional volunteers attended an AIIMS Awareness course followed by a BBQ in the outdoor classroom area.
