15/12/2014 – New SES Bus first Deployment

SES Bus Deployed to Whiteman Park Fire

On Sunday the Mundaring SES Unit went operational for fire support at Whiteman Park.  Mundaring SES’s new bus was used for transport of fire fighters to between Whiteman Park and Bush Fire Brigades in the Shire of Mundaring.  The feedback received is that it was very noticeable that the use of the buses for this role was superior to the use of Land Cruisers. This is due to the fact that the bus was able to sit six fire fighters with their equipment safely stored in the bus and still have plenty of room to sit comfortably.

These new buses will not only enhance the support by the SES Volunteers to the Bush Fire Brigades, but with six of them strategically located in and near the metropolitan area will provide extra support for other emergency responses as well.
