New Donnybrook SES Unit Officially Opened
At a ceremony on 8 November, attended by more than 35 people including SES Volunteers, DFES staff and members of the public, the Honourable Terry Redman MLA, officially opened the new Donnybrook State Emergency Service Facility. Before the Honourable Terry Redman MLA and Deputy Shire President Anne Mitchell unveiled the plaque, a number of speakers spoke about the good work the SES Volunteers do, the input and project Management by the Shire for the new building and the assistance by DFES staff to ensure the building met the needs and was fit for purpose. The attendance list also included the DFES Commissioner Wayne Gregson, DFES Deputy Commissioner Lloyd Bailey, Donnybrook SES Local Manager Carol Vickridge, SESVA Secretary Lin Booth and SESVA President Gordon Hall. The Donnybrook SES Volunteers then gave visitors a tour of the SES building and provided an afternoon tea, including suitable refreshments.
