Melville SES Has a New Local Manager
DFES District Officer, Will Blackshaw, has advised that David Fyfe has been appointed as the new Local Manager for the Melville SES Unit.
David comes with a wealth of business experience including being an Accountant (CPA), experience as a para-legal and currently with the City of South Perth as the Infrastructure Planning and Emergency Management Officer.

David was first trained in rescue with NZ Civil Defence and in January 2009 he joined Melville SES and until his recent appointment was the Deputy Manager.   David was also a foundation member of the Avon Descent Swift Water Rescue Crews and at various times has held the positions of Manager, Deputy Manager, Rescue coordinator, Recovery Co-coordinator, Senior Rescue Instructor, and a Team Leader. Today he is a Senior Team Leader & Instructor for that group.

The Association congratulates David for putting himself forward for this role and his subsequent selection.

It is good to see DFES doing a Local Manager appointment in a timely manner and not let the unit members wait months or years – well done DFES.
