National Qualifications for Volunteers
Are you currently working toward completing a nationally recognised training qualification with DFES? If you are currently completing courses which contain nationally recognised units of competency or you are completing an evidence log book to demonstrate competency and want to have these units of competency, or a qualification recognised under the national training framework, there are some changes which may affect you.
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), DFES is required to comply with a number of regulatory requirements for training that results in nationally recognised competencies or qualifications.
To assist in meeting these requirements a number of changes will be occurring to processes, including the requirement for students to advise of their intention to complete nationally recognised qualifications. A registration form and information sheet has been attached for this purpose. This form will also be made available on the DFES Volunteer Portal.
Changes are also pending to the national training compliance reporting requirements for all Registered Training Organisations. A briefing note has been attached to explain how this will affect DFES and volunteer personnel.
Completed Registration Forms are required by 31 October 2013 (see forms below)
Should you have any further questions about either of these matters, please contact Christine Morgan by email Christine.morgan@dfes.wa.gov.au or phoning (08) 9454 0722.
