16/04/2013 – SES Advisory Committee

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – SES ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services and the SES Volunteers Association (Inc.),which is the prescribed Association for the SES under the act, are in the process of setting up the SES Advisory Committee.

The SES Advisory Committee will be responsible for;

  • advising the FES Commissioner upon, and making recommendations in relation to, anything that may impact SES Volunteers, operationally, administratively or otherwise;
  • maintaining oversight of, and ratifying reports, minutes and recommendations from, all DFES Committees whose actions may affect SES Volunteers and escalating matters, where applicable, to the FES Commissioner;
  • providing quarterly reports to the SESVA on all matters, recommendations and advice reported to the FES Commissioner or his staff.

The Committee will be made up of 3 Volunteers from the SESVA, 3 other SES Volunteers and up to 5 DFES staff.  The Association calls for expressions of interest from SES Volunteers who are prepared to be a member of this committee and provide a written report on a quarterly basis to the SES Volunteers Association.  The expression of interest will need to state the SES unit you are a member of, outline your experience, both in the SES and other fields, have the endorsement of your Local Manager and be no more than 2 pages long.
