Mac Holt reports that Kalbarri SES was on the road again – deployed as a pre-emptive strike unit (9 volunteers) to Carnarvon during the threat of Cyclone Norelle in the North West of our region. While waiting for Norelle to decide her path we took the opportunity to check out the local units Flood Boat and other vessel in the Gascoyne River estuary. We also visited the Quobba coast to advise remote campers and do some SRR refresher training on local cliffs. On Australia Day we had a display and also gave a multi-services exercise scenario/demonstration. Recruitment targeting resulted in 5 new members.
