Another presentation was held at the Bayswater SES Unit for the Metro North Coastal Region
Medals issued by the Queensland Government were presented to some of the WA SES volunteers involved in the operation. This was part of National SES Week with a celebration held at Kalamunda SES Unit on Thurday night.
The medal has been given to all emergency services who contributed during and after storms, cyclones and floods in 2011. This include the hundreds of career and volunteers including a contingent of SES volunteers from WA. The medals were presented by Department of Fire Emergency Services (DFES) Chief Operations officer Llyod Bailey on behalf of the Queensland Government.
