Mac Holt from Kalbarri SES reports if variety is the spice of life and travel broadens the mind then we have had hot curries and ended up with an overweight brain – again. A fast search at night time up the local river and a 600km two day deployment to the edge of the desert for and air observation and land search provided both variety of environment and travel. (both searches were successful with missing people found unharmed). As well as regular training we had an electrical safety training night with FESA’s Mathew Sangster (a ‘sparky’ by trade). The safety issues we didn’t know about solar energy systems were presented – a must for our own well being when ‘out there’. Well worth the time.
