Isuzu Australia last week donated an NLS 200 All Wheel Drive truck to VICSES to assist the organisation in responding to disasters like the flooding that hit much of Victoria in January and February this year. suzu Australia made the donation as part of its commitment to the emergency services sector Australia wide, and will be donating a similar vehicle to the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service.
The new Isuzu truck is a light-duty vehicle and tray body with a retail price of $61,000, and will be used primarily at the State Logistics Centre in Sunshine to add to the capacity of VICSES volunteers to respond to future emergencies throughout Victoria.
Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Yuki Murata said the Victorian flood disaster was a tragedy that touched the lives of many.
“After enduring the wettest January in recorded history, many areas of Victoria were left ravaged by flooding as waterways across the state broke their banks,” Mr Murata said. “As one of the VICSES’s preferred truck suppliers, we enjoy a close relationship with the
organisation and are aware first hand of the outstanding work the group performs in the community. On behalf of the Board and Executive team at VICSES, I would like to sincerely thank Isuzu for this kind and generous donation.
