The Kalgoorlie challenge has lived up to its prepetition again this year with everyone had a great time. Skills that were covered ranged from communications, 4WD, first aid, search, casualty handling, vertical rescue techniques and general rescue. The challenge is a training weekend with an emphasis on team work as well as a social weekend where members from different units can meet and discuss experiences within the SES.
The weekend’s event was open to all SES units in WA. Teams generally consisted of 5-6 members and were required to participate in all stands. The level of the stands is suitable to all members, from new to the more experienced.
And the winners of the challenge were:
- 1st Place Bayswater SES
- 2nd Place Mundaring SES
- 3rd Place Gosnells SES
