Jim (James) Regan lost his life on 2nd of April 2004 while on operational duty as a Volunteer with the State Emergency Service. This tragedy was the first time the life of an SES Volunteer was lost while on active duty in WA. The April edition of the Newsletter will be dedicated to the memory of Jim, who was thirty-six years of age twenty years ago.
Jim had been a member of the Newman SES since October 1999. During a rescue attempt in the Karijini National Park, the father of two drowned.
