New Rescue Boat for Mandurah SES

On Saturday the 30th of April the Mandurah SES Unit met to inspect their new rescue flood boat. This vessel is used to locate and rescue people stranded in floodwater. It was designed with the needs of the unit and area in mind. It features navigation and communication technology equipped to transport stretchers, causalities, and crew.

What better way to learn about the new boat than taking them out on the water? With a crew together they ventured out into the canals and then a little further out to really see what these boats can do. Whilst they were out, they explored as many of the new features as possible, practiced rafting up the vessel as well as emergency stops. They also took turns skippering the vessel whilst we were out about.

Greg Cook SESVA President said” this will be a sufficient capability to enable SES Units to assist the Community in emergencies Situations”.
