27/03/2022 – SES Mounted Section Farewell

Saturday the 26th of March 2022 SES Mounted Section volunteers were honoured at a farewell ceremony in Wandi, after more than three decades of serving the Western Australian community.

Thank you to the Hon Stephen Pratt MLC and DFES Commissioner Darren Klemm AFSM who presented the dedicated riders with plaques to acknowledge their important role in large-scale searches over the past 35 years.

The long-serving members of this unique group stepped up each time they were called upon, helping reassure worried families every possible avenue was being explored to find their loved one.

Stephen Pratt MLC said, “Thank you to all current and past members of the SES Mounted Section for their dedication to serving our communities in times of need”.

Greg Cook SESVA President said” this is truly a sad day for the SES In western Australia”. He also said, “the SES mounted Section had provided a great service to the Communality in WA providing a specialist response during land Searches and other operations, they will be sadly missed”.
