From the President
I do believe that the past and coming months have some cause for reflection for the State Emergency Service across Western Australia. For this outstanding volunteer workforce, which is raised, trained and equipped from our communities, are expected to carry an increasing workload without thought being given to the toll this may take on individuals.
Forensic Training
Over recent months the media has reported several incidences of people becoming lost in the outback, or during a weekend away. In some instances the result of searches haven’t been positive.
Recently, Merredin SES Volunteers conducted a skills training day to refresh their skills in Land Search techniques.
SESVA Bus
On Friday 15th October the SESVA bus was delivered to Wagin SES Unit. The bus will enhance Wagin SES capability quite dramatically, as their only other vehicle is a storm
damage truck.
With the Unit Membership growing at a fast pace, the SESVA bus has an definitely increased their ability to support their local community
Historical Photos
Don’t forget the SESVA are looking for photos, video’s, slides and/or film from the Dawn of Time to create a visual history of our great organization. Copies can be sent to us in a digital format just ensure the scan is high resolution (at least 300dpi). Just send them to Bella at the office.
