The SESVA remembers and pays tribute and recognises that the Australians and New Zealanders were fighting for a noble cause and that this would be the ‘war to win all wars’. It does not glorify war in any way but acknowledges the courage and sacrifices they made in the face of terrible mistakes and impossible odds.
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.
