Inflatable Rescue Stretcher
DFES Rescue Branch has been engaged by Country Operations to coordinate the identification and implementation of an equipment solution that will provide the ability to safely move casualties across water in gorges.
This work was commenced by Tom Price SES who have completed a considerable amount of the investigation into an alternative to the current process of lashing 2 tyre innertubes to the basket stretcher.
Rescue Branch has purchased 2 trial options (including the option identified by Tom Price) which should be delivered to Tom Price for evaluation within the next couple of weeks.
As a part of this initiative, Country Ops have been requested to identify the other units that may require this equipment.
