SES History Book presentation
Mrs McNamara, wife of Bernie McNamara ESM, was presented the SES History book. Bernie joined the SES as a Volunteer in Carnarvon in 1970 and later joined the WA SES as a staff member, retiring in 2002.
After retirement Bernie spent much of his time at the Melville SES Unit and passed away in March 2017.
In recognition of Bernie’s service and the support of Mrs McNamara and their children, Allen Gale ESM and Gordon Hall ESM, presented Mrs McNamara and their children with an autographed book each.
This book on the history of the SES and Civil Defence includes information provided by Bernie including why many SES units were celebrating their 40th anniversaries around 2016.
