Merredin SES Annual Dinner & Awards Night
We can all agree that 2020 has been an eventful and stressful year; volunteers have had to deal with fires, floods, and a pandemic. And just to keep us on our toes we’ve helped in many searches, storm damage operations, and regional boundary closures, just to name a few, yet we all still kept focused and committed to volunteering with SES.
On the 12th December Merredin SES held its last training session for 2020, which was followed by their annual dinner and awards night in Merredin. It gave the members time to reflect and look back on 2020 and plan for 2021.
Awards were also presented to members and community members for their support and outstanding service to Merredin SES and DFES. Community member Lyndon Walker was presented a Certificate of Appreciation for his voluntary support to Merredin SES as a community member.
Certificate of Appreciation was also presented to Gary Bottacin who is a member of Moora SES and travels to Merredin occasionally to help in training and general duties. Other award recipients were service medals to Debra Vicary, Mark Briggs, and Judith Briggs.
The Units Highest Award, the Shield for High Excellence & Achievement, was awarded to Local Manager, Mark Briggs for his untiring work and support to Merredin SES.
