Dave Beard Retirement
Dave Beard, after more than four years as the Local Manager of the Rockingham-Kwinana SES, retired on the 7 June. The SES Volunteers organised a surprise retirement function, with a group of fifty people gathering for Dave’s send-off. The group included City of Rockingham representatives, Greg Whip and Helen Edwards, Chief Superintendent Brad Delavale and District Officer Will Blackshaw from DFES, past member Bob Polson, past SESVA President and Treasurer, John Capes OAM and his wife Nita, SESVA Vice President, Alan Hawke and the local SESVA Representative Kylie Griffin.
Amongst the speakers for the night were Greg Whip who spoke about the support to the City by Dave and the SES Volunteers. David Price and Mark Booth presented Dave with a plaque representing many years of dedicated service to the local community and the SES. An arrangement of flowers was presented to Mrs Beard on behalf of the SES Volunteers for her many years of support.
John Capes spoke about Dave’s involvement with the SESVA over many years and presented him with life Membership of the Association. Brad Delavale and Will Blackshaw spoke about Dave’s role and presented him with the 30 year clasp to the SES Medal in recognition of the many dedicated years of service to the SES and community.
