AUSTRALIAN FIRE SERVICE MEDAL AND EMERGENCY SERVICES MEDAL
NOMINATIONS SOUGHT
Nominations are currently being sought for the Australian Fire Service Medal (AFSM) and Emergency Services Medal (ESM).  You are encouraged to nominate any career or volunteer member that you consider worthy of recognition at this prestigious level.  The AFSM recognises distinguished service by members of an Australian fire service, while the ESM recognises distinguished service by members of emergency services across Australia, and people who are involved in emergency management, training or education.  Nominations can be submitted any time throughout the year, however if you would like the nomination to be considered for Queen’s Birthday 2015 the due date is Friday 10 October 2014. Nominations received after this closing date will be considered in the following Australian Day round.
Recipients of the AFSM and ESM are announced in the Australia Day Honours List in January and the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in June.  Career or volunteer members must meet the distinguished service criteria, as outlined in the nomination guidelines and forms that can be downloaded from the Reward and Recognition page. Nominations can be forwarded to the Rewards and Recognition Officer via email on rewards@dfes.wa.gov.au
For further information or if you require assistance with the nomination, please contact the Rewards and Recognition Officer on 9395 9520 or rewards@dfes.wa.gov.au
