NEWS FROM KALBARRI SES
Mac Holt from Kalbarri SES reports an afternoon search and rescue operation in our local river estuary, for a missing swimmer, had to be suspended for the day as the sun set and darkness enveloped the area. All available local resources from Police, SES, VMR, VFS, DEC and private boat owners were employed but could not find any sign of the missing person.
At first light the next morning it was now a search and recovery mission, which was achieved in less than two hours. Building of additional facilities has started after being successful in achieving grants and from significant fundraising, to store and safeguard operational equipment.
