Each week, Dr Judy Esmond transmits emails to volunteers in all sectors. Usually the emails include ideas on how to recruit or recognise or reward volunteers for the great job they do and their commitment to whatever their cause. Here is Judy’s message this week, as we reflect here in WA of the floods in Carnarvon, the major bush fire at Clifton and as we are in the midst of floods in Queensland and northern NSW:
This week is simply a big thank-you to all
the volunteers (both formal and informal) who are
doing an amazing job in helping during the flood crisis.
At times of natural disaster anywhere in the world
it is a wonderful reminder of what volunteering is all
about.
THIS VOLUNTEERING QUOTE DOES SUM IT UP…
There is no greater commitment than when people
give of themselves. Volunteer activity is the ultimate
demonstration of caring – John W. Amerman
