Whilst travelling to Esperance last week, 17 July2010, I noticed the Ravensthorpe SES building was open. With a quick stop, I found that the “Ravy” SES volunteers were using Saturday afternoon to do some equipment maintenance. They were also issuing the new WAERN handheld radios to key unit members. It was great to catch with some old SES friends. Staying the night at Ravensthorpe, I took up Roger’s offer to attend a shearing championship hosted by the local football club. Wow, shearing a sheep in 37 seconds!
