The sun may have been shining and Belmont SES gets a call early this morning (Saturday) for a flooded building. Belmont SES responded and doing the maths approx 250,000 litres of water from a burst water pipe had flooded the Bunnings complex on canning Highway. 3 Fire appliances were pumping the water out on arrival, untill they could not pump any more due to the high velocity of their pumps and large diameter inlet. For 6 hrs – 6 Belmont, 3 Canning and 5 Northshore members pumped water till we couldnt pump any more and left it for the internal sump pumps to remove the rest.
