15/02/2013 – Manjimup SES Volunteers support Fire Operations

Michael Mackay-Blair reports that Manjimup SES has just completed 2 days of water bomber support at Manjimup Airstrip. Normally we get 2-4 aircraft, but at the height of the incident with 2 major fires and temperatures reaching 40 degrees on the tarmac the crew were filling 8 Aircraft. A sterling job done by the members, with DEC Air operations , Dunns aviation and DFES applauding their efforts. Overall, over 120 hours of support to our BFB and VFRS brethren. Well done James, Shaun, Kira, Dillon, Raz, Lenny and Bluey! Have a well deserved rest blokes and blokettes!
