10/01/2011 – Radio Interview Heritage Community Radio 107.3 (updated with picture)

For those who turned into 107.3 Heritage Community Radio on Saturday morning would have heard are very interesting interview.  Phil and Graham attended as members of the Local Unit Gosnells however spent much of the time presenting a state-wide view of the SES.  
Many issues were discussed in the 30 minute segment including:

  • What makes up an SES Unit
  • What volunteers do and what’s expected from them
  • Training requirements and standards
  • FESA structure and where the SES fits in
  • ESL funding
  • How to join the SES
  • Interstate deployment of Volunteers

Two members of the Gosnells SES Unit will be interviewed on hertitage Community Radio tomorrow (Saturday) during the “In your neighourhood “ segment between 10-30 and 11-00 am .   Phil Petersen and Graham Fixter are senior members of the unit and are well known and respected in the Emergerncy Services Community. The segment will cover a variety of subjects regarding a local SES Unit.

The Voice of your Community  107.3 Heritage FM broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week  providing a wide range of music programs produced and presented by local residents, ranging from rock, heavy metal, blues, soul, jazz through to folk, classical, gospel and promoting local bands and Australian music in general throughout the programs.  Monday to Friday 6am to 6pm enjoy songs the other stations have forgotten about, with hits from the 60s to the 90’s with more music and less talk.  Overnight has easy listening music.

107.3 Heritage FM is a not for profit community organisation that aims to encourage your involvement in presenting local information, music and entertainment relevant to our community. 107.3 Heritage FM is your local community radio station whether you are a resident, worker, student or a casual visitor in the Local Government areas of Armadale, Gosnells or Canning in the south east metropolitan suburbs of Perth, Western Australia.

107.3 Heritage FM broadcasts a number of diverse programs profiling the general community and its organisations. We present local sports with talk based  programs covering, motorsports, football (soccer) plus horse and dog racing.  107.3FM covers youth issues with friday nights the focal broadcast night for our younger community members. Our outside broadcast volunteers are out in the community regularly at concerts, festivals, business venues and community events.
