31/10/2010 – SES Volunteers Assist Police with Search for Clues

State Emergency Service Volunteers  are searching an area of land on Spectacles Road, Anketell, for clues into the suspected murder of Parmelia woman Iveta Mitchell.  Police said the SES volunteers began searching the area near Kwinana at about 10am this morning on behalf of the major crime squad.  Two weeks ago Police released a fresh clue in the hunt for Ms Mitchell’s killer, with a witness reporting a small four-wheel-drive vehicle in the Kwinana and Rockingham area about the time the 37-year-old vanished.

The white Suzuki with a hard top was described as being in a poor condition with signs of rust and an orange light mounted on the roof.  Mrs Mitchell was last seen about 1am on May 3 after leaving her home following a fight with Mr Mitchell over household finances. She was reported missing the following day.
Mr Mitchell has stated publicly that police have told him he is a suspect in the disappearance but he denies any involvement.
