17/10/2010 – Police seek witness

Major crash investigators are seeking more information about a fatal crash at Worsley, west of Collie, last weekend.  Collie woman Jenna Moyses, 21, died about 11.30am on Sunday when the Ford GT sedan she was a passenger in slammed into a tree about 10.50am.  The crash was about 2km west of Wellington Dam Road.  Police said the left passenger side of the car took the main impact of the crash.  The 25-year-old male driver and a nine-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the back seat, received minor injuries.  Anyone who saw the vehicle before the crash or the crash itself is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The deaths of five people in six months on the Coalfields Highway have renewed concerns over safety and the amount of heavy traffic on the notorious road.  Three days before the accident which killed Ms Moyses, 21-year-old apprentice electrician Michael Lee died after a collision with a truck just east of the town on his way to work at Griffin Coal.
