The SESVA website received 1000 hits in two hours during the height of the storm on Monday the 22nd of March 2010. The SESVA also received numerous emails, calls to committee members and calls the SESVA office all from people requiring urgent attention.
The main reason for this activity was many people simply searched for the SES in Perth on Google and as a result the SESVA website is the first hit. Where possible we were able to direct people to 132 500 to report their damage.
SESVA has advised FESA of the matter and requested they research how the situation can be rectified so people using the internet can be directed to the correct site to obtain emergency contact numbers.
