09/04/2010 - Feed back required for Government Skills Australia

Time is running out for comment to be made on the Public Safety Training Package review.  There have been big changes made with the implementation of Skills Sets, with modifications to the Qualifications in some areas, and updating the Units of Competencies.

The SESVA encourages SES volunteers to take the time to visit the GSA website and screen the various documents and provide feedback to GSA.  The deadline is May 21st, 2010, but feedback will always be considered even after that time depending on the closure date of the item.

To provide feedback:

Go to:  http://www.governmentskills.com.au   Register as a new member using your email address and your email password.   Search Units, Qualifications and Skill Sets.

In particular, look at Industry Wide Units of Competency – the PUAOPE’s, PUATEA’s, PUASAR’s.  Look at the PUASES Units under State and Territory Emergency Services.   After downloading the pdf and viewing it, click on “Provide general feedback” (written in orange below the download area) and make your comments.

In particular look at the pre-requisite requirements of the skill  -  are they logical and required?

Your input into this consultative process can greatly benefit the organisation and I hope you will encourage them to take the opportunity to participate.
