05/04/2010 - Sad news from Mandurah

It’s with great sadness and regret that we annouce the passing of long serving and well respected Local Manger of Mandurah SES Unit Neil Davidson OAM who pasted away today Sunday the 4th of April 2010.

Neil has been the Local Manager of the Mandurah unit since late 1984 or early 1985. With a background as an officer from the military, he led and administered over a very pro-active and large unit, a credit in itself. He also represented SES volunteers on the old Volunteers Advisory Committee (VAC), today’s equivalent of the SESCC and also served his community as a councillor for some time as well.  He was a great citizen. Neil was instrumental in some of the SESVA initiatives, such as the SESVA Benevolent Fund and the SESVA 2009 Victorian Bush Fire Fund.

President David Price and Committee Members of the SESVA express our deepest condolence to Neil’s wife Pam and Family.  Please accept our heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
