Phillip Rance Awarded ESM

In the Queen’s Birthday honours list of 2019, Phillip Rance, of the Mandurah SES unit, was awarded the Emergency Services Medal.  Phillip has been an outstanding SES leader who has, for more than thirty years, demonstrated his skills within the operational and training environment of the State Emergency Service.

Some recent examples of his ability to adapt and succeed are in relation to incidents traditionally not usually associated with SES skills, including responding to fire incidents in Waroona, Lake Clifton, and Myalup, as the Volunteer Liaison Officer for the SES.

He has consistently maintained a high workload and standard of professionalism in all that he has done.  Phillip is viewed as a good example of the abilities and values that an SES volunteer should possess.

Phillip is also actively involved in the Peer Support program, where he has provided valuable advice, guidance and information after critical incidents and across emergency services.

The SES Volunteers Association congratulates Phillip in being awarded the ESM and thanks him for his excellent service to the community and our state.
