In the 2014 season the SES responded to 91 storm related incidents across Western Australia. The SES Volunteers, and other services, attended more than 1163 requests for assistance – roof damage, fallen trees and flooding. The Volunteers contributed more than 3225 hours attending to the community needs.
The SESVA had hoped Government would approve a campaign to provide guidance for the Western Australian Community in relation to Winter Storms and Public Safety.
DFES have issued two documents that they have emailed to the regions and SES Units. These give the Community some guidance and information in relation to the Winter Storm season that commenced on 1 May.
